Ponce City Market Rooftop Wedding | Atlanta, Georgia | Lawrence + Jessie

Although I travel a good bit for weddings, nothing beats one just a short drive away. Ponce City Market is an Atlanta icon, and I’ve always hoped to shoot a wedding there, and had the wish fulfilled by Lawrence and Jessie’s last September. The rooftop is an especially cool experience, with an array of carnival games and incredible bar+restaurant, and lucky for me, also where the wedding was held.

We started the day at the funky retro Hotel Clermont, and ended with a New Orleans style high energy second line parade. I’m grateful to Lawrence and Jessie for welcoming me into their day and intimate moments. We met through Lawrence’s sister after I photographed the whole family, so when the wedding came around they already felt like old friends. However, I’ve rarely met individuals who are so considerate and attentive to me on their wedding day, and was taken aback by their kindness and hospitality. They are truly gems.

Jessie wore her grandmother’s wedding dress in the first set of portraits as a tribute to her and their relationship. I love that she made time in the day to have those taken and honor her loved one’s memory.

Huge thanks to Slater Hospitality who runs the roof and provided an exceptional experience for everyone, BOLD Events for catering, design, and florals, and BHLDN, Free People, and Beauti Elite for dressing Jessie up. Enjoy a look into their day!
